In Loving Memory of Aj’anaye Marie Hill
Aj’anaye Marie Hill, lovingly known as “Naye Naye,” was born on April 1, 2008, at 3:14 PM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to her devoted parents, Chanell White and Louis Hill. From the moment she entered this world, Aj’anaye radiated life, laughter, and light—a spark of joy that lit up every room she entered and every heart she touched.
Aj’anaye spent her early childhood in Philadelphia, cherishing precious time with her father, older sister, and extended family. In 2015, her family relocated to Douglasville, Georgia, where she quickly made a name for herself as a bright, bold, and unforgettable presence in the community. Whether it was her dazzling smile, contagious laugh, or confident personality, Aj’anaye had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved.
A proud student at Douglas County High School, she looked forward to graduating with the Class of 2026. Her dream was to become a lawyer-fueled by her deep sense of justice and a heart for those who needed a voice. Aj’anaye was especially passionate about advocating for the African American community and for people who couldn’t afford proper legal representation.
She dreamed of changing the world, one case at a time.
Aj’anaye’s energy was magnetic. She danced through life-literally and figuratively. From TikTok videos and selfies to cheering on her twin brother at games, helping her mom with catering, or making memories with her siblings and friends, Aj’anaye lived life out loud. Her hobbies were expressions of her vibrant soul: creative, funny, stylish, and full of love.
But Aj’anaye wasn’t just fun —she was faithful, loyal, and determined. She stood up for what she believed in. She stood up for others. She had plans. She had purpose. And she had a heart that beat with so much love.
On March 4, 2023, her beautiful life was tragically stolen in a senseless act of gun violence during a Sweet 16 birthday party in Douglas County. Ten teens were shot that night. Two lives were lost. Aj’anaye was not the intended target. And in that single moment, the world lost a future attorney, a big dreamer, a little sister, a daughter, a loyal friend, and a shining light.
Though her time on Earth was far too short, Aj’anaye’s impact lives on. In every laugh she sparked, every dance she shared, and every life she uplifted, her legacy continues. She will forever be remembered as bold, brilliant, and beautiful-inside and out.
Ajanaye, we love you. We miss you. We will keep your light alive.
